|Central Park WALKING TOURS
Central Park, one
of the greatest works of art to come down to us from the nineteenth century,
has hidden treasures that many life-long New Yorkers have never seen.
These two walks will show us some familiar sights along with some unexpected
surprizes and delights!
THE RAMBLE & AROUND THE LAKE
We'll begin at General Sherman's statue at 59th Street and Fifth Avenue, walk to the Conservatory Water, perhaps to see the famous family of Red Tailed Hawks, nestion on a Fifth Avenue apartment building. Then through The Ramble, up to Belvedere Castle and down to the Shakspeare Garden, filled with spring flowers. Over Bow Bridge to Bethesda Terrace, through one of the last surviving stands of American Elms and past an antique carousel we'll end up on the terrace of
O'Neal's Ball Fields Cafe, a charming outdoor eatery right in the park, at an umbrella table overlooking the base ball fields.
